Swancreek Water District Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Swancreek Township Hall, 5565 County Road D. The public is welcome to attend.

Swanton Area Railroad and Model Club will meet at 8 p.m. in Swanton Village Hall. All are welcome.
Saturday, Sept. 6
Oak Openings Geocache Poker Run, Oak Openings Preserve, Buehner Center Porch, 12 to 3 p.m. Bring your GPS unit to the park for a day of Geocaching fun and prizes. Participants will search the park for geocaches which hold envelopes with cards. At the end, the team or individual with the best seven card stud poker hand will win a noncash prize, runner up prizes will also be awarded. If you do not have a GPS there will be a limited number of units available to borrow on a first come first serve basis (borrowers must leave a drivers license). Free. Member's Program: Top 10 Metroparks Birding Destinations, Oak Openings Preserve, Oak Openings Lodge, 2 to 4 p.m. Grab your walking shoes, bird guides, and binoculars and get set to discover the best places to see birds in your Metroparks. Veggie Swap at Swanton Public Library from 10 a.m. to noon. If you have extra veggies from your garden or if garden produce sounds good even though you don't grow it yourself come to the library parcking lot.
Monday, Sept. 8
Swanton Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the township hall at the corner of Airport Highway and Scott Road. The public is welcome.
Swanton Village Council will meet at the municipal building on Chestnut Street at 7 p.m. The Finance and Water and Sewer Committees will meet prior to the regular meeting. The public is welcome.
Introduction to Taking Great Nature Photos, Secor, Secor Room, 7 to 9 p.m. Start with the basics of photography and, in four indoor sessions, work through such topics as making proper exposures, selecting the right lens, compositions, and developing your own style. Each class session is followed by a Thursday field session from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at various locations to practice what was discussed. Class sessions are Mondays, Sept. 8, 22, 29 and Oct. 6. Adopt-an-Acre sampler, Oak Openings Preserve, Mallard Lake, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Learn more about this incredible region by participating in hands-on stewardship projects such as plant monitoring, invasive removal and bird counts. Naturalists' Camera Club of Toledo: Free Public Program, Secor, National Center for Nature Photography, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monthly programs presented by the club are open to everyone and typically include a guest speaker, nature photography instructions and gallery tours. Gallery opens at 6:30 and program begins at 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments served. Fee: Free.

Weekly/Monthly Event
Immunization clinics are conducted by the Fulton County Health Department on the third Thursday of the month from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Swanton Village Hall. For more details, call the health department at (419) 337-0915. Immunizations are $5 each, with a $25 family maximum.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Tuesday, beginning at 8 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 200 Dodge St. in Swanton.
The meetings are open to anyone suffering from alcohol addiction, or recovering alcoholics.
Combat Wives/Dependent group meets the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. in the Detwiler Building in Wauseon.
