Proud of Thursday's response by residents

Last Thursday someone decided to play a horrible "trick" on the residents of a local nursing home. I hope anyone who has information will call the police.

As I headed home late that night I started thinking about how, when I voted in the levy to build the new high school to help the children of this community, that building would also help those in a nursing home, by being used as an evacuation center with its wide doors, hallways, multiple entrances and handicapped restrooms. Yes, we could have used another building but none in Swanton would have been as accommodating of all the wheelchairs, gurneys and special needs.

Hats off to all the responders, community members, family members, nursing home staff, school staff, students and Swanton's taxpayers... we all helped in the time of need and we should be proud of the response of Swanton's citizens.
