American legion hosting benefit for fire victims

A Halloween benefit will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Wellington American Legion. All proceeds will go to help John and Nancy Frye rebuild their lives after their recent house fire. Dinner will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., a reverse raffle at 6:30 p.m. and music beginning at 8 p.m.

The menu will be prepared by Big Dog and include pulled pork, baked beans, baked macaroni and cheese, cole slaw and corn. Tickets are available at the American Legion and cost $8.50, carryouts are $9. Bring a carved pumpkin to the Legion by Oct. 30 and receive a free 50/50 ticket. Throughout the evening participants can enjoy raffles including a 50/50, door prizes, free lottery ticket, auctions and a basket of cheer. For more information call 647-6334.
