Citizens for school bond issue to host 'snake dance' and rally Nov. 1

Citizens for Wellington Schools will be hosting a "Snake Dance for our Future" parade and rally on Sunday, Nov. 1.

The Dukes Marching Band will lead the way followed by any and all others wishing to join the event. The parade will leave the stadium at 5 p.m. and parade west on Dickson Street toward McCormick where additional students, staff, parents, and community members will be waiting to join the parade route. The parade will then move north to Kelly Street; turn left onto Kelly Street and right on Johns Street to Union; north on Union Street to Westwood where they will pick up more students, staff, parents, and community members. The parade will end at the high school where there will be a bonfire and rally for the school bond Issue. The fire department and police department will escort the parade with sirens and lights. Free hot chocolate will be served at the high school.

Residents can join the route at any of the stops along the way: stadium, McCormick, Westwood, high school or anywhere in between. There will be bus transportation available to bring marchers back to the stadium after the rally at the high school.
