Council members ask for votes
To the editor:
On Nov. 3, village residents will go to the polls to decide a myriad of issues. Included among those decisions will be village council where four seats are open and five candidates are running. Although we are independent thinkers, we thought it best to write one letter instead of three separate ones. We have no hidden agendas, no axes to grind or grudges to bare. Our interest in serving the village is based upon a shared objective -- to make sure Wellington remains a strong, safe and beautiful community for the residents of today as well as for future generations.
We understand the importance of being prepared and knowledgeable of all sides of an issue. We understand the importance of being a good listener and of asking the questions that need to be answered. We understand the importance of being open with our decisions and the reasons behind them. We understand the importance of giving residents a platform to voice their opinion whether it agrees with ours or not. We understand the importance of respecting all opinions and welcoming those voices into the conversation.
On Nov. 3, we are asking for residents' votes to work on their behalf as a member of village council. We understand the importance and responsibility that goes along with such a request. We would like to thank residents for their support.
