History begs against McAvena
To the editor:
Here are more reasons not to vote for Dale McAvena:
The first time I met him he had just left a meeting when he was on the zoning board of appeals and told us that he had voted no on an issue without reading the information that was provided. When asked how he could do such a thing that was so important to residents, he replied, "I don't know but I'll think of a reason."
I have since watched him and paid attention to all the bad decisions he made on the zoning board and continued as township trustee.
I can begin with demands for taxpayers to pay for family medical care when he could easily pay through the company he owns, that he donated money to a lawsuit against the township that elected him as a political favor to a friend. This lawsuit was thrown out of court by the way as a frivolous action.
Did you hear any apologies to other trustees or township for these actions?
At his first meeting on cemetery board he voted to fire a employee who had done a fine job for 13 years and hired a friend of his with no experience to take his place.
There is a lawsuit by this gentlemen against the cemetery board by the way that I'm sure Mr. McAvena doesn't want the public to know about.
He insisted on keeping Jones Road open after the roadman closed it. Other trustees agreed with the roadman who called the county engineers and they closed it for unsafe bridge which was totally replaced.
Last but not least his total disrespect for fellow trustees and his total refusal to work with them. I could go on and on but if anyone would like more facts about McAvena, please call me at 647-2306 and I would gladly share the truth about him.
