Margaret Belle

Faight

Margaret Belle Faight died Thursday, May 15, 2008, peacefully in her sleep at her daughter's home with whom she resided in Harlingen, Texas, for the past four years. She had recently celebrated her 96th birthday with her family and friends. She was very active until a recent hip fracture.

Mrs. Faight was married to Charles G. Faight. They met when they were in the ninth grade. Mr. Faight always said that he purposely failed one grade of school so they could graduate high school together. He loved Model T Fords and when they were dating, they would tool around in his Model T Ford. She had a replica of a Model T Ford engraved on the back of their headstone when he died in 1997; at that time they had been married 63 years. They truly cherished each other and conveyed that love of family to their children.

The couple loved to travel. When their children were grown and Mr. Faight had retired from working, they started traveling. They traveled around the country including a visit to Hawaii, a winter in Mexico and the rest of the winters they spent in Texas.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Bowman of California; daughter, Nancy Criss of Harlingen, Texas; her sons, David E. Faight of South Amherst, Richard Faight of Elyria and John Faight of Wakeman; her grandchildren, Brian Kurtz of Muncie, Ind., Christine Hevener of South Amherst, Jane Chomet of South Amherst, Scot Faight of Amherst, Nancy Tarrete of Naples, Fla., Melissa Faight of Elyria, Melinda Koch of Elyria, Jennifer Loffert of Linden, N.C., Terri Crocker of Westlake, and David C.
