Phyllis Kathleen
McQuaid
Phyllis Kathleen McQuaid, 84, of Wellington, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 at MetroHealth Systems in Cleveland.
Born in Fairview, W.Va. on Aug. 12, 1925 to the late Carl and Dorothy (Darry) Barr, Mrs. McQuaid graduated from Fairview High School in 1943. In 1951, she moved to Wellington.
Mrs. McQuaid worked in the kitchen of the Wellington and Oberlin hospitals. She spent her time helping her husband manage Jack's Sohio Service Station. She was a member of the Lady Shriners and the First United Methodist Church of Wellington and always enjoyed having lunch with the ladies after church. Other activities she enjoyed were cooking, traveling, watching the Cleveland Indians and Jim Thome and bowling at Strike Out Lanes. She also loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Terry (Georgia) McQuaid, Nancy Thomas and Gary (Debra) Fugitt; nine grandchildren, including grandson, Todd (Kelli) McQuaid and granddaughter, Whitney (Danny) Wilson, locally; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Jack; son, Gary Lynn; sister, Martha Hurd; and son-in-law, Jimmy Thomas.
Funeral Services were held Sept. 23, 2009, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Watkins Harris
Thelma Josephine Watkins Harris, 97, of Dade City, Fla., died Sept. 18, 2009.
She was born April 17, 1912, to Elmer and Edna Watkins of Richwood, Ohio, and moved to Dade City, from Ridge Manor three years ago. She graduated from Ohio Northern University and was a retired elementary school teacher in Wellington and Bay Village.
She is survived by her son Michael Dean Harris (Susan), Barrington, Ill., one daughter-in-law, Paula Harris, Seneca, S.C.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee Harris and her son Roger Lee Harris.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Richwood, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her memory to Gulfside Regional Hospice, c/o 37826 Sky Ridge Circle, Dade City, Fla., 33525, or a charity of your choice.

Adams
Molly J. Adams, 69, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Adams was born June 28, 1940, the daughter of the late Vernice and Carroll Wight. She was born and raised in Wellington and was a 1958 Wellington High School graduate.
Mrs. Adams was an STNA who worked as the admissions/discharge planner at the Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. She also served as a mentor through the REM program and Murray Ridge, working with the developmentally disabled throughout the area. She was an active member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wellington. She was involved with many organizations including various literary clubs, Town and Country, the Wellington Women's League, and the Friendship Guild. Her interests included boating, swimming, listening to classical music, shopping, and traveling. She also loved her cats and dogs.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband of 15 years, Pastor Philip Kunz; three sons, Jeffery C., Matthew W., and Christopher J. Adams; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. James L. and Barbara Wight, all of Wellington. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael Adams.
Friends may call today, Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 S. Main St., where a memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. Rev. Brian Burke will officiate. A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Molly and Michael Adams Memorial Scholarship Fund, Farmers Savings Bank, P.O. Box 438, Wellington, Ohio 44090.
