* Aug. 31, 11:51 a.m.: Officer Shelton was dispatched to the American Legion for property damage. Upon arrival the officer observed the back section of the fence behind the pavilion was missing. It was learned the fence was hit sometime after closing by a 4x4 truck which put its front bumper on the fence and pushed it over. The truck continued to drive into the field and then went between two houses on Parkside Reserve Street.

* Sept. 1, 1:23 p.m.: Officer Shelton was dispatched to West Herrick Street in reference to someone being injured while walking. Upon arrival the officer learned the homeowner's dog became excited when seeing a man and woman walking and ran to greet them. The dog jumped on the man causing its teeth to bruise and scrape his hand. A check with the man's doctor showed it not to be a bite. It was noted the dog is current on all his shots.

* Sept. 1, 3:51 p.m.: Officer Heathcoat met with a woman at the station who said she is continually being harassed with text messages and voicemail. At this time the woman would like a report on file and she was informed on how to obtain a civil protection order.

* Sept. 1, 4 p.m.: A woman came to the station and informed officer Heathcoat that her nine-year-old son, daughter and herself are continually being harassed. She further stated her son was in an altercation at school with another juvenile which is being handled by the school, but his family continues to harass them. While speaking with her the other juvenile's mother came to the station to file a complaint. Both women were informed to keep their children away from one another.

* Sept. 1, 6 p.m.: Officer Heathcoat was informed by a woman she parked her vehicle in the parking lot on Johns Street. Later when she arrived at her vehicle the fuel door was open and the cap unsecured. After replacing the cap she then drove to work. While on the road she noticed her fuel gage read quarter of a tank which it should have been full. Sometime through the night persons unknown removed the fuel from her tank. At this time there are no suspects.

* Sept. 1, 10:07 p.m.: Officer Heathcoat was dispatched to East Hamilton Street for an assault complaint. The officer learned a woman's 12-year-old son was with a friend riding their bikes to Geyer's. Her son was then taunted by older males and he flipped them the middle finger as he rode by them on his bike. One of the males then attacked her son shoving him off the bike and riding over the left side of his face with a bike tire causing lacerations and bruising. The boy was taken to Oberlin for evaluation by his mother. The mother wished to pursue charges.

* Sept. 2, 12:40 p.m.: Police were dispatched to Barker Street in reference to an unruly 13-year-old boy. It was noted the police have been to the residence numerous times over the last few months and the boy is on probation through Portage County. All parties were advised a report will be forwarded to the Lorain County Juvenile Court.

* Sept. 4, 5:32 p.m.: Officer Aviles met with a man at the station in reference to a barking dog complaint. Officer Aviles went to the home of the barking dogs and issued the owner Erin L. Greene of Wellington a citation for barking/howling dogs.

* Sept. 5, 9:24 a.m.: Officer Smosny was informed by Pizza House that they had received three bad checks totaling $135.65 including processing fees. Pizza House made several attempts to contact the check writer to no avail. Officer Smosny left a message with the person informing her to contact the WPD. When contact was made she was told to make restitution or she could be charged.

* Sept. 5, 5:40 p.m.: Officer Carter was dispatched to Forest Street in regard to a theft complaint. Upon arrival the officer was informed the homeowner let a man stay due to not having anywhere else to go. After the man left, the homeowner found numerous jewelry items and watches missing from his home. It was noted the man, Jesse Williams, has an active warrant out of the Holmes County Court for larceny. This case will be handed over to Officer Shelton for further investigation.

* Sept. 5, 9:38 p.m.: Officer Aviles met with a man at the WPD in reference to his neighbor's dog charging his children. The officer met with the dog owner who informed the officer that his dog would not run loose anymore. It was noted the officer was called back to the premises a short time later due to the two neighbors having a verbal altercation. It was further noted the two shook hands and no charges were filed at this time.

* Sunday, Sept. 6: Jay J. Johnson of Wellington was served a citation at the Lorain County Jail for improper display of plates and driving in violation of restriction. It was noted that Johnson also has an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a parole violation for a sexual assault charge.

* Sept. 6, 3:20 p.m.: Officer Poling met with a mother and her 14-year-old daughter at the WPD in reference to her daughter being harassed by a 14-year-old boy. The mother stated the two juveniles were texting one another when the boy threatened her. Contact was made with the boy who stated the girl had threatened him as well. Both parties, along with their parents, were advised not to have any contact with each other.

* Sept. 9, 8:50 a.m.: A man brought eight rounds of old 16 gauge ammo to the station which he found in his basement. He asked that it be destroyed.

* Sept. 9, 12:10 p.m.: Police were dispatched to Barker Street in reference to an unruly juvenile. Police learned the juvenile was out of control while at the license bureau The juvenile was advised that he is being charged with domestic violence.

* Sept. 10, 8;53 p.m.: Cieria Rodriguez of Lorain was processed for DUS first offense, expired registration and was released on a $1,000 personal bond with a pending court date. It was noted the officer allowed Rodriguez to drive to the WPD from North Main Street due to having an infant in the vehicle.

* Sept. 11, 1 p.m.: Officer Shelton was dispatched to Wellington Self Storage in reference to burglary. Upon arrival the officer met with a man who stated at least 14 of the units had the locks cut off during the night. The owners were going to contact the renters and have them check their units.

* Sept. 12, 3:12 a.m. Police were dispatched to the Collins Apartments in reference to a fight. Upon arrival the officers learned that a father was yelling at his son due to his son and his friends "had stole wood from the house next to the church." Contact was made to the three males who admitted taking the wood without permission and were instructed to load the wood back into the shopping cart they used and return it. Contact was made with the owner who was advised of his option to pursue charges if he wished; he did not. The father was advised not to yell at his son in such a loud manner at 3 a.m. in the morning on the porch.

* Sept. 12, 5:05 p.m.: Police were dispatched to Grand Avenue in reference to dogs mauling a cat. Upon arrival the officers were advised that a man observed three dogs appearing to be a husky shepherd mix were mauling a cat. A woman pulled up to the officer and advised that her ex-husband's dogs were loose. Officer Aviles took photos of the injured cat which had multiple injuries and was unable to walk on its own. The cat's owner was located and took the cat to the Wellington Vet Clinic. The dogs' owner was advised that he would need to make arrangements to pay for the injuries sustained to the cat. Charles A. Jackson, Jr. was charged with dogs running at large, two counts and was given a court date.

* Sept. 12, 6:51 p.m.: A woman brought in a bike frame that she and a friend located at the Rec. Park.

* Sept. 13, 2:15 a.m.: Nicholas J. White of Wellington was charged with open container and underage consumption. He was released to a sober party on a $1,000 personal bond with a pending court date.
