Meet the band

This week's featured senior is Jacob Poiner, son of Mike and Bev Poiner. Jacob is a member of the marching, concert, pep, and jazz bands. He is a squad leader in the percussion section and has played in the orchestra pit for the musical "Little Shop of Horrors."

Jacob's most memorable band moment was hearing the crowd cheer for the band after the first home game of the '08 football season. He recommends the band program because, "It teaches you responsibility and how to work with others while also teaching independence." He would like to thank his mom, dad, family and friends.

Jacob is also a member of Drama Club, French Club, and Civil War Club as well as the Oberlin College Community Winds and Church Youth Council. He plans on attending college to study music education and musical theatre.
