Softball legacy will continue

The success of the Wellington High School softball program should continue for years to come.

The junior varsity team was again undefeated this year. With an 18-0 record, the JV outscored their opponents 257 to 26. They also won the North Ridgeville JV tournament, beating Clearview, North Ridgeville and Midview.

The girls' success was achieved with consistent pitching by Shelby Monschein, Hillary Markel and Tiffany Rathwell as well as superb hitting by Courtney Echstenkamper, Jackie Bankston, Megan Auble, Maddison Pickworth, Rachel Cook and Holly Storrow.

The future looks very bright with pitcher Sarah Fahler and the other freshmen Jessica Davis, Cassie Provoznik, and Mallory Bartolovich. Coach Kristy Holliday's team had had only one loss in the last four seasons.
