Seniors plan November outings

by MARLA LENT

Office on Aging

It was with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing of former Golden Ager secretary Evelyn Fanning. Many of you will remember this tiny woman with the soft voice. Evelyn also had been an active member of the Jolly Crafters that made so many beautiful items throughout the years to benefit the senior program. We will miss her warm smile and kind heart.

The senior luncheon will be held at the Congregational Church on South Main Street, on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at noon. Call in your reservation by Nov. 8. The menu will include chop suey on rice, green beans, applesauce, roll, beverage and dessert.

The guest entertainer will be Guytano Parks who is a native Clevelander, well known to audiences as an extremely versatile pianist with a diverse repertoire. He has performed in venues ranging from the concert stage to cafe society. He studied piano with artist-in-residence Eunice Podis in the Conservatory at the Cleveland Institute of Music from 1979 to 1985.

Golden Corral and the DAV are partnering for another great Military Appreciation Monday on Nov. 17 between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. That's the day Golden Corral Restaurants nationwide welcome veterans and active military men and women to a free buffet dinner and drink, and lots of camaraderie. Military Appreciation Monday is Golden Corral's way of saying thank you to our nation's veterans and active duty personnel. Be sure to visit the DAV information table to meet members of Chapters in your area and check out the free DAV information.
