All three trustees were present for the Oct. 21 regular meeting which convened at 8 p.m. Following the Pledge, the minutes of the Oct. 7 meeting were read and approved.
* Duane Johnson reported the recreation board has put curtains on the pavilion on the north side. The center lights have been removed and will be replaced. He reminded all of the Halloween party in the park.
* Albrecht said Crawford looked at a leaf mulcher for $85 for the trustees to consider. Gordon and Albrecht will look at it and possibly be able to fabricate one.
* Zoning inspector Donahue stated two of the registered letters to violators have been delivered. The one on Whitehead has not been picked up yet. The county has passed sub-division regulations. The prosecutor sent a violation notice on vehicles to a Rt. 18 resident.
* Gordon made the motion to pay a bill to the State of Ohio for income taxes, seconded by Younglas. Roll call, all yes. He bought a 12' light pole for the park. The Community Church will serve free breakfast, lunch and dinner to voters on Election Day.
* Conrad stated Crest Fence has ordered the rails for the fence that the tree fell on. He spoke to Dan Geib from Grafton Cable and he will attend a meeting before year end.
* Younglas reported on the county meeting. Penfield will host December's meeting. The association is considering changing the location of the booth at the fair and possibly not having it any more due to the poor staffing by some townships. He said the cemetery markers are discolored and hard to find. They either need to be cleaned or replaced.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:28 p.m. on a motion by Gordon, seconded by Younglas.
Sincere sympathy is extended the Nick Bogojevich family on the death his father, Nick, Sr. recently.
The Penfield Community Church is to be thanked for the meals they served at election day. There was no charge and many people enjoyed both the meal and the fellowship.
