To the editor:
"Faith," what does that mean to you? I can't see air, but I know it's there and I have faith that it will be there for me to breath. I can't see our savior or His father, but I have faith and believe they are there. Through life we are presented with situations were we need to make a tough decision. We will usually take our time, maybe pray and get ourselves informed before making a rash decision, especially a decision that will affect future generations of this fine community and affect us financially. Then we make that decision on facts and we have faith that we made the right choice. We've been given the time and the facts; now we need faith.
One such tough decision we will be faced with is Issue 40 on Nov. 4. Times are tough; I cannot argue that fact. But I also know that history has proven that this great country of ours will rebound and the economy will rebound. I ask you to have faith in that fact. I have faith one, two, five years down the road we will see better days. These events are cyclical and have happened before and will happen again. We always rebound from them though.
One fact that is not cyclical is the state offering us $19.2 million for this issue. Though it's tough now, it will be even more expensive next time if we do not pass this. That is fact. It is a take it or leave it deal. This has become not an issue of "How can I afford this?" to "How can I not afford this?" This is the time that our faith will be tested most, but I ask voters to stay the course and have faith that this investment will give us a return 10 fold. I ask all to vote yes and to have faith and believe that it is the right thing to do at the right time. Please keep the faith for our children and their children.
