Letter to the editor

To the editor:

We, the trustees of the Wellington Schools Endowment Fund, have adopted a resolution in support of the school bond issue/levy and are writing to encourage all our fellow citizens to vote yes on Nov. 4.

Our community has a proud tradition of supporting educational excellence. We were one of the first districts in the State of Ohio to build a private endowment for the support of public education. It was an ambitious goal, but the people of Wellington rose to the challenge.

The endowment, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, is a symbol of the importance we place on education here in Wellington. We have never been content to allow our children to settle for the bare minimums. Instead, we have worked hard and sacrificed to ensure our students have the best academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities.

Issue 40 is an important opportunity for our community to rise to the challenge once again. In these turbulent times, the value of education is all the more apparent. By investing in the education of our young people, we help ensure a more prosperous future for our families and for our community.
