Naomi Stearns, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield.

Born in Huntington on April 16, 1919, to the late Herbert and Myrtle Hawley, she lived in both Wellington and North Ridgeville before settling at Wedgewood Estates 10 years ago. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.

Mrs. Stearns is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Kenneth) Jones of Mansfield; two granddaughters, Hilary (John) Vaughn of Columbus and Heather (Jim) Cavalieri of Portland, Ore.; and two great-grandchildren, Grace and Jack Vaughn. She is also survived by her sisters, Martha Waters of Norwalk and Margaret Adkins of Eugene, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stearns in 1996 and two brothers, Gerald and Howard Hawley.
