Christy, Steele wed in Tappan Square
Jessica Renee Christy and Scott J. Steele were married June 21, 2008 in the Tappen Square gazebo in Oberlin with Minister Jeff Algrin performing the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lisa Christy of Sandusky and William Christy of Wellington. The groom is the son of Janice Steele and Noah Hunter of Sullivan.
Special selections by the bride and groom were provided by Flash Gordan Digital Sounds for both the ceremony and reception.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brothers Luke and Billy Christy. She wore a white satin ballroom length grown with embroidered white lace embedded with white pearls and sequins, accented by a bussel bow. She carried a bouquet of white roses and gardenias, accented by white satin feather lace ribbons and pearl inserts, trimmed with delicate ivy satin.
The maid of honor and sister of the bride was Tiffany Gayheart who wore a ballerina length pink satin crepe dress with an empire open back bodice, trimmed in pink satin ribbon and hemline layers of delicate ruffled pink tulle. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and gardenias trimmed with pink feather lace embedded with pearls and sequins. Flower girl was Aubrey Christy, niece of the bride.
The best man was Toby Stafford, a high school classmate and friend. Ushers included Billy Christy and Luke Christy and ringbearer was Shacoy Hunter Steele, nephew of the groom.
After the ceremony a reception was held for 150 guests at the home of Noah and Janice Hunter.
The couple honeymooned in Chicago, Ill., and took a cruise to the Bahamas. They now reside in Elyria.
The bride is a 2004 Black River graduate and a 2008 Kent State graduate where she double majored in phsychology and sociology. She is currently employed at the Olive Garden in Elyria.
The groom is a 2003 Black River graduate and a 2006 Beaver County Community College graduate. He is currently employed by Cleveland Center FAA as an air-traffic controller.
