Police Blotters for July 23
June 29, 6:10 a.m.: Officer Harold White was dispatched to a residence on Westchester in reference to a group of juveniles shooting BB guns off their back porch.
A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with discharging firearms within the city limits.
There is one other juvenile arrest pending further investigation of this incident.
June 29, 11:06 p.m.: Officer Michael Rosebeck was dispatched to Motel 6 on Leavitt Road in reference to a three-year-old-girl found wandering the property and the pool area alone.
Upon arrival, Rosebeck located the room in which the child came from and met with the girl's mother, Desmarie Henderson, who was found asleep in the room.
Once she was awakened, Rosebeck advised Henderson of her daughter's whereabouts and the child was then handed over to her.
Henderson was given a verbal warning for child endangering and officers cleared the area only to return a couple of hours later for another occurrence.
After an investigation, Henderson was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of child endangering.
Her three-year-old daughter and seven-month-old son were handed over to Henderson's mother for the remainder of the evening.
She was later released from jail after posting a personal bond.
A copy of the police report was forwarded to Lorain County Children Services.
July 1, 4:00 p.m.: Officer Troy Donaldson came across a broken down vehicle in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Leavitt Road and Cleveland Avenue.
Donaldson checked the driver, Terence Wyatt, of Lorain, through LEADS and discovered an arrest warrant through the Lorain Police Department for failure to pay income taxes.
Wyatt was then taken into custody without incident and transported to the Super K-Mart parking lot where he was turned over to the custody of officers from Lorain.
July 6, 2:01 a.m.: Officer Devin Small responded to the Dairy Mart Convenience store at 167 Cleveland Ave., in reference to a detained female juvenile shop lifter who had attempted to steal alcohol.
Small met with the clerk who had the 17-year-old female behind the counter.
After an investigation, she was then arrested and charged with one count of theft. She was then cited to the Amherst Police Department's diversion program.
The 17-year-old female was then turned over to her step-father who signed for her release.
July 6, 2:30 a.m.: Officer Devin Small observed a blue Ford F-150 pick-up truck traveling northbound on North Main Street weaving from side to side.
Small also noticed the driver crossed over the double yellow line to the left side of the vehicle several times.
According to a police report, Wilson refused to submit to a breathalyzer test because he stated he would probably be two times over the legal .08 percent limit.
Patrick Wilson, of Lorain, was arrested and charged with OVI, marked lanes, weaving the course, driving under suspension and state refusal.
July 7, 12:33 a.m.: Officer Michael Rosebeck was dispatched to a residence on Ravenglass Boulevard in reference to a criminal damaging complaint.
According to the complainant, an unknown vehicle turfed his lawn and then struck his Allied garbage can, which was located at the curb and lost one of its wheels because of it.
Rosebeck then traveled around the block looking for the vehicle with negative results.
A police report was made and the incident remains under investigation.
