Police Blotters for July 9
June 20, 1:22 a.m.: Officer Michael Taliano was dispatched to the Church Street Bar and Grill in reference to a man selling drugs inside.
Taliano located the man who was later identified as Dominique Thompson of Lorain.
After an investigation by Taliano, Thompson was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct/intoxicated.
June 20, 5:52 p.m.: Officer Kyle Gelenius was dispatched to Aldi's Supermarket on Kresge Drive in reference to a theft complaint.
An unidentified female victim stated when she had finished with her grocery shopping, she mistakenly left her purse in the shopping cart and proceeded to leave the area. On her way home, she realized she didn't have her purse, so she turned around and went back to the store.
When she arrived, someone had turned her purse in to the store manager. However, when she checked to see if everything in her purse was still there, it wasn't.
Someone had stolen nearly $300 in cash, her checkbook and about 10 credit cards.
A report was taken and Gelenius advised the female victim to contact her bank to cancel all her checking and credit card accounts.
Gelenius then attempted to locate any witnesses to the crime, however he was met with negative results. The store manger told Gelenius there was no surveillance video in the parking lot.
There are no known suspects at this time.
June 22, 12:30 a.m.: Officer Mark Cawthon initiated a traffic stop on a silver Lincoln for an equipment violation at the intersection of Cooper Foster Park and Leavitt Roads.
During an investigation, Cawthon noticed various drugs were located in the vehicle.
Three individuals including the driver, Richard A. Kurtz, Jr., was arrested and charged with no license plate light, seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, trafficking in marijuana and cocaine, prohibition, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and illegal conveyance of drugs.
His front seat passenger, Brian C. Hall was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and prohibition.
A 17-year-old male, who was in the back seat of the vehicle was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing marijuana and violating his curfew.
Their court appearances are pending.
