Marine to return to marry Steele sweetheart
Lcpl Aaron W Lawson USMC is returning home to Amherst after a seven-month deployment to Iraq to marry his high school sweetheart Chelsea Wilson.
Lawson, who graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in June, 2006, enlisted in the marines in January, 2007. He attended boot camp at Parris Island, S.C. and completed his MOS Training in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
Shortly after being stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, he was deployed to Iraq. Lawson was deployed in February and returned in mid-September. He will be coming home Dec. 28 to marry Chelsea Wilson who graduated from Steele in June. The couple will marry on Dec. 31, 2008 at the Sheffield Church of God at 6 p.m.
Chelsea and Aaron dated through their high school years and have remained best friends. They will be moving to Jacksonsville, N.C. after the wedding.
