This was a tight exciting game between two very good teams. The Mudcats played excellent defense highlighted by a triple play and an excellent one-handed grab by third basemen Noah Douglass on a scorching line drive.

* July 11: The Scott Iliff D.D.S. Muckdogs defeated the J.D. Indoor Comfort Rockhounds by a score of 7-6. Muckdogs hits include Scooter Iliff (3), Dylan Strauser, Drew Engle, James Phillips and Coltin Camp. Girls Major Softball League

July 13: The Veard Construction Lions finished 4-8 during the regular season, but in first round playoff action they upset the 9-3 co-champion Homerun Financial Spartans by a score of 11-5. The Lions Sarah Walters benefited from a tight defense to stop the hard hitting Spartans while tossing her second complete game of the season on a six hitter with eight strikeouts for the win. The Lions Shannon Sfero (3 hits, double), Katelyn Pittman (double), Hannah Brosky (2 hits), and Brooke Baldwin (double) each had two-out clutch hit RBI's while Sam Piwkowski, Gina Januzzi, and Leigha Radcliffe kept rallies alive with key hits against Spartans aces Jessica Moore and Olivia Cruz. Moore (3 hits), Sydnie Mullins (double), Jessica Whitman, and Lexie Jones had hits for the Spartans.

Girls Rookie League

* July 10: The Grasshoppers (10-4) defeated the Volcanoes by score 20-16. Grasshoppers with two or more hits include Madeline Laslo (3), Marissa Poalson (4), Emily Eischen (3), Erika Eischen (3), Virginia Hughes, Hannah Ruth (3), Karly McFarland (3), Sophie Pisegna, Lilly Dempsey (3), Christy Cecil and Elizabeth Hughes; 2B include Emily Eischen, Erika Eischen, Virginia Hughes (2) and Karly McFarland.
