Girls first, boys third at junior high SWC title race
The Amherst Jr. High School cross country girls team placed first in the SWC Championship race Saturday at Lorain County Community College. They had excellent races despite the poor weather and muddy course conditions. The boys placed third.
First for the girls was Alexis Szivan in first place with a time of 12:29. Steph Hamm finished in 8th place with a time of 13:25. Lauren O'Doherty finished in 12th with a time of 13:57.
Following closely behind Lauren was Alana Gonzalez with a time of 13:59 in 14th place. Next for the girls was Brandi Stevenson in 16th with a time of 14:09. Gabby Semon came in 23rd with a time of 14:25. Alana Hering finished with a time of 14:36 in 30th.
Following closely behind Alana was Xing Dong in 31st place with a time of 14:39. Right behind her was Hayley Lepkowski in 32nd with a time of 14:41. Shauna Boden came in 35th place with a time of 14:46. Rachel Sackett came in 41st place with a time of 14:58. Abby Turnwald finished the race with a time of 15:11 in 46th place.
Allison Syrowski came in 49th with a time of 15:17. Next was Maddie Pihlblad in 60th place with a time of 16:07. Following Maddie was Claire Faight in 61st with a time of 16:08. Jessica Delgado came in 63rd with a time of 16:15. Jordan Hall came in 65th with a time of 16:19. Gaby Northiem came in 75th with a time of 16:44.
Victoria Basinaski came in 80th with a time of 16:53. Following Victoria was Chloee Ritter came in 82nd with a time of 16:57. Olivia Meyer came in 83rd with a time of 17:02. Next for Amherst was Ciara Murray in 89th with a time of 17:21. Megan Tuokkola came in 102nd place with a time of 20:06. Megan Winiarski came soon after in 104th place with a time of 22:21.
First for the guys in the SWC Championship was Joshua Park in second place with a time of 11:29. Jeff Watkin came in 14th with a time of 12:18. Noah Haramia came in 19th with a time of 12:34. Following Noah was Noah Skladen in 26th with a time of 12:59.
Sam Kamnikar finished in 29th with a time of 13:03. Stephen Sekoulopoulos came in 34th with a time of 13:17. Next for Amherst was Aleks Crisler in 44th place with a time of 13:43. Ben Higgins came in 50th with a time of 13:51. Adam Hornyak was in 53rd with a time of 13:56. Next was Alec Dziak in 64th with a time of 14:18. Anthony DelVecchio came in 76th with a time of 14:29. Following him was Joseph colon in 86th with a time of 14:46. Connor Keeling wasn't to far behind in 87th with a time of 14:50. Alex Brotzki came in 89th with a time of 14:53. Next was Michael Prieto in 91st with a time of 15:01.
