Hamm, Glowacki lead junior high cross country teams

The Amherst junior high cross country has been hard at work preparing for another successful season for the past three weeks.

The team boasts 63 runners with several returning runners from last year. The teams competed in the SWC preview, which was the first race of the season, last Saturday at Lorain County Community College. Both boys and girls fared well.

The boys were led by Nick Glowacki, who won the race with a time of 11:53. He was closely followed by Tom Wesley, Nick Donot and Jordan Reynolds.

Rounding out the top seven were Austin Miller, Dakota Walker and Ted Kamody.

The girls were led by Stephanie Hamm, who is a seventh grader. She completed the course in 13:50. She was followed by Emily Johnson, Carly Croyle, Kaitlin Given, Olivia Morales, Celine Burgos and Heather Brosky.

The Comets will compete again at LCCC this Saturday at the Earlybird Invitational. The boys will run at 8 a.m. and the girls will run at 8:30 a.m.
