Lady Comets advance after win over Berea Braves

by CARL SULLENBERGER

Sports correspondent

The Lady Comets got a break on a bye for a much needed rest before their first playoff match on Saturday. They were a bit rusty but seemed to rely on their experience and instinct to win over the Berea Braves.

The team just wasn't quite as "up" as they usually are but they remained unruffled even as they went point for point with the Braves until finally pulling ahead at the midpoint of each game. The Comets bested Berea 25-16, 25-16, and 25-14.

Amherst advances to the semi-final with Medina's Bees on Tuesday at Midview High at 5:30 p.m. Medina played Avon Lake on Saturday winning in four games.
