What's happening...

Please join the North Coast Greyhound Connection this Saturday, Aug 23, at the Bellevue Farmer's Market for a Meet & Greet plus great shopping! The Farmers' Market will be set up in the parking lot at the corner of Main and Sandusky Streets downtown. We'll have lots of adoptable Greys and volunteers to answer any questions you may have about adopting one of these wonderful, loving animals. The Farmers' Market is open from 8am -1pm. Come for lunch. There will be a Chicken Barbecue beginning at 11 a.m. Proceeds will benefit NCGC and adopted greyhounds.

The Bellevue Men's Christian Fellowship now meets on Monday mornings at 6:45 a.m. at McDonald's, U.S. 20 East. They will meet this Monday, Aug. 25. All men of the community are invited.

Bellevue Redmen Boosters 200 Club winners for the current week are: Annette Smola, first; Tom Weakland, second; Joe Frailey, third.

Ruth Ruffing, 164 Arlington Dr., will celebrate her 100th birthday on Monday, Aug. 25. She would enjoy receiving cards from friends and neighbors.

Blood supplies are very low. An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held Monday, Aug. 25, 3-7 p.m., at St. John Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest St., Bellevue. The drive is on the bus. Please give the gift of life.

Mad River and NKP Railroad Society monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, 7:30 p.m. at the freight house, 233 York St., with a guest speaker from the Bellevue Historical Society. Public is welcome.

Mark your calendars! World-renowned eco-theologian and professor of world religions, Dr. Jay McDaniel, will be in Bellevue to give a free workshop on Saturday, Sept. 6, at First United Methodist Church, 901 Northwest St. He will lead three discussions on spirituality, ecology, and different religions. People may attend any or all of the day's events. Reservations are needed by Sept. 5 as a lunch and supper are being planned. Call FUMC, 419-483-4260, for details.

Like classic cars? Come to this Saturday's 3rd Annual Car and Truck Show on Southwest Street, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by Mad River and NKP Railroad Museum and Miller's Drive-In. A Back to School Concert and picnic will be held Sunday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., featuring the 4 Jays, an oldies and doo-wop group in concert. The Bellevue Women's Christian Fellowship meets this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Center. All women of the community are invited.

Recycling Day is Saturday, Aug. 23, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Community Center, Monroe St. Items that can be recycled include glass, cans, plastic, paper and cardboard. For specifics on each category, contact the Community Center, 419-483-5555.
