TBH pffers fitness sessions at Bellevue Rec Center

Fitness instructor Mandi King and The Bellevue Hospital are teaming together to offer a variety of Fitness Classes at the Bellevue Recreation Center.

In addition to her "Friends for Fitness" and "Senior Friends for Fitness" aerobics classes, King has added Kickboxing, Interval Training, and Body Sculpting classes to the fitness lineup.

"My goal is to expand these classes to include more variety for the participants, so they are challenged physically and realize more of a change in their fitness levels," commented King. "All classes are open to the public - men, women and children."

King is a certified health educator, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor. She has been teaching fitness classes for the past six years. The class lineup will include:

Friends for fitness, regular aerobic classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m.

Senior friends for fitness, senior rriends for fitness classes, suited for those ages 55 and older, are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 to 9:45 a.m. These classes feature a warm-up period, low impact aerobics, stretching, and a cool-down period.

Body sculpting, strength training using weights and resistance bands. This class meets Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m.

Interval training, a combination of cardio and body sculpting. This class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 to 8:45 a.m.

Kickboxing, a cardio kickboxing class featuring punches, kicks, strength training and cardio moves. This class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Participants for any of these classes are encouraged to consult their family physician before joining an exercise program.

Class fees are $3 per class or $5 per week. Also, babysitting is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $2 per child.
