Support

Slotto

To the Editor:

On Dec. 31, 2009 I will be completing 16 years as your Green Creek Township Trustee. This time has been very rewarding to me in several ways.

A great deal of that time has been spent working with most all offices of the County, City's and surrounding Townships. I have tried to utilize federal grant money to subsidize Township Tax Dollars where possible.

I hope I leave with a substantial mark on the Township. This however is not all about me alone. There have been 3 such Trustees working in unison for the betterment of our community for several years now.

One of which will be up for re-election in November. Gene Slotto has bee a solid Quarterback to our trio during his tenure. He is well respected by his peers throughout the County, the respect that is gained over time.

I am asking you to support Gene Slotto in the upcoming election so that he can continue this solid commitment in representing you, the taxpayer, for another term.

Gene, Joe and I would also like to thank you the voters, and taxpayers, for your support in the past.

Vince Golembiowski,

Township Trustee

Hotel bill

was paid

To the editor:

I'm writing to your newspaper in regards to your report of the Clyde-Green Springs Board of Education meeting that was in your Oct. 7, 2009 edition.

In your report you had statements from a letter submitted by John Brewer, a former employee of your newspaper.

In this letter you, said Mr. Brewer questioned payments made for rooms in a Columbus motel for Mr. (Gregg) Elchert and myself.

I question your using my name without asking me. This way I had no way to defend myself concerning Mr. Brewer's statement.

Let me give you the true facts. Mr. (Todd) Helms got rooms for 6 or 7 persons at the Blackwell Hotel.

We paid him for our rooms and assumed that he paid the hotel.

Your report leads one to believe that we knew that the school district was paying for our rooms.

Show support

by passing levy

To the Editor,

This Nov. 3 residents of the Clyde-Green Springs School District will be asked to vote on a renewal levy.

Our district is not asking its very supportive residents for new money. We are asking our voters to validate their support for the progress we have continued to make in serving the needs and desires of our young people.

I have been through many small towns like Clyde and Green Springs over the years. With traveling as one of my favorite hobbies, I have had first-hand looks at similar communities all across this blessed and fortunate nation. Countless towns offer attractive features including good school choices. I am just lucky to be able to live and work in one such area Clyde and Green Springs.

Over the years I have found this area to be rather unique in its concern for its concern for its fellow residents and its resolve in tackling challenges.

In 20-plus years as a citizen of the Clyde-Green Springs community, I have observed the compassionate and giving-nature of its residents when fellow neighbors and residents have needed their help, whether it is prayers, money, or personal support.

Our community, like others, has experienced its difficult times, as well. Unlike some other areas, however, I have witnessed a sense of determination to 'right the ship', and move forward when faced with some adversity. I firmly believe our residents desire the very best from its city and school leaders, and believe there is no price tag on progress.

Our schools are moving forward with new elementary and middle school buildings, plus additions to other buildings.

Thanks to the generous and substantial support of our voters in March of 2008, our students truly will be served by some of the finest facilities in Ohio.

You can validate your support of the Clyde-Green Springs Schools and affirm your pride in the progress our Flier community has made. Please vote 'Yes' on the Nov. 3 Renewal (NO new taxes) levy.
