Fourth events

The City of Clyde will celebrate Independence Day on Friday, July 3, with the annual fireworks and a new "Clyde's Got Talent" Show.
Meanwhile, Green Springs Village will hold its own events and fireworks on Saturday, July 4, complete with a 3:30 p.m. parade.
Clyde
Aaron Wilson, Clyde Recreation Director, said he has 17 acts lined up for the park system's first talent show that runs 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Community Park. The event will have emcee Jonathan Walsh from WTOL TV 11 Toledo.
Wilson also has guest judges country singer Brian Farrar and Jonathan Burkin, who appeared on TV's America's Got Talent last summer. At the end of the show, Burkin will perform his fire twirling routine before the city's fireworks begin.
The public will be asked to vote for its favorite acts on Friday night by using quarters. Each act will have a plastic bucket where the public can drop quarters to support the performers.
All the funds collected will be donated to Alexa Brown, a local child who has been undergoing treatment for pediatric cancer.
The events in the park, however, really begin at noon when the city pool opens free to the public until 6 p.m..
Green Springs
The line up for the Green Springs July 4th Parade starts at 3 p.m. at St. Francis Care Centre. The parade follows at 3:30 p.m. down Broadway to the municipal building.
A beer tent and food sales start at noon. Other activities are slated for the afternoon and Lonesome Pony Band will be in the beer tent at 8 p.m. For more events see page 15 in today's newspaper.
