GS Pony vs Old Fort

The Green Springs Pony League team defeated Old Fort, 14- 9, at Old Fort and raising their record on the season to 4-1 oin June 2.

Ryan Meyer was the victorious pitcher for Green Springs and went 6.1 innings allowing 9 hits and 4 walks while striking out 3 Old Fort batters. Seth Stockmaster closed out the contest for Green Springs striking out both batters that he faced to end the game.

Meyer also led the team in hitting by lighting up Old Fort with 3 singles (3 for 3) and scoring 3 runs. Tyson Hermes had a productive game at the plate going 2 for 3 with 2 singles, 3 RBIs and scoring a run. Adam Turner continued his hot hitting going 2 for 3 with two doubles and scoring 2 runs. Dustin Patten belted a triple, while Ben Wadsworth swatted a double to close out the extra base hits for Green Springs.

For the year, Green Springs is batting .417 while holding their opponents to a .214 batting average.

Benchmark vs Steinle

Benchmark Prints pounded out 16 hits to beat Steinle, 15 to 5, on May 26.

The offense was led by Seth Magers, who hit for the cycle, scored 3 times and drove in 3 runs. Jarel Lee went 3 for 4 and drove in three. Also collecting 2 hits apiece for Benchmark were Blake Miller, Ramon Leal, Kyle Cantrell and Lucas Colvin. Blake Miller, Lucas Colvin and Jonathon Hill all threw shutout innings. Tyler Sherman also pitched effectively for Benchmark.

Collecting hits for Steinle were Devon Mowry, Jacob Robinette and Dominic Sebetto. Kyle Mange walked twice and scored 2 runs.

Benchmark vs Lynch

Benchmark Prints beat Lynch Construction, 6 to 1, on May 28. The win evened Benchmark's record at 4 wins and 4 losses.

The loss was Lynch's first of the year. Benchmark was led by Blake Miller, who threw 4 shutout innings and belted a grand slam homerun. Miller surrendered only 2 hits and 4 walks while striking out 10 batters. Seth Magers finished up on the mound giving up 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 2. Also collecting RBI hits for Benchmark were Kyle Cantrell and Jarel Lee.

Lynch Construction was led by Jordan Hummel with 2 hits. Jacob Groover scored their lone run after walking in the 6th. Drake Comarata pitched 1.1 innings giving up 2 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2.

Jacob Groover pitched 2.1 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 walks while striking out 5. Ben Shaw threw 2.1 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 3. The defense was helped by two nice plays at shortstop by Drake Comarata.

VFW vs Whirlpool

Whirlpool defeated the VFW in Girls Major League play,17-13, on May 26. Whirlpool started out string with 11 runs by the end of the third, added 2 in the fourth. VFW had a slow start, grabed 3 runs in the third. The girls came alive in the 5th when they scored 7 runs to 4 scored by Whirlpool. VFW picked up 3 more, but it was not enough for a full comeback.

Kelly Bodi was the winning pitcher for Whirlpool, pitching all six innings for 7 strike outs, three walks and allowing 26 hits.

Pitching duties for VFW were split between MaKaylin Lozier and Arcadia Dodson with 6 strikeouts, 8 walks and allowing 24 hits.

The girls with the big bats for Whirlpool were Tasha Wood, 2 singles, 2 doubles; Diamin Hergerling, 2 singles; Kelly Bodi, a double, one triple; Ceirra Rodriquez, 2 dougles and 2 homeruns; an d Morgan Jones, 2 singes.

In the first inning, Shania Herberling caught a pop flyr for her team and tagged first base for a double play.

For VFW, Stephanie Moore had a single and a double; Braelynn Michael, a double; Kirsten Albright, double; Makrylin Lozier, a single, double, a homerun; Arcadia Dodson, 2 singles, Homerun; and Emma Steinbauer, a single, one double.

Arbors vs Myers

The Arbors at Clyde girls fastpitch minors defeated Myers Construction, 14-8 on May 30. The win brings the Arbors record to 8-0 for the season.

Megan Chong was the winning pitcher for Arbors, pitching 2.5 incings for 7 strikeouts, 3 walks and allowing one rung. Madison Young pitched relief for 1.5 innings for

Miller's vs Whirlpool

Miller's Super Valu fell to Whirlpool 19-8, on June 4, in girls major league play.

Pitching for Miller's were Savanna Roth and Kristen Hermes for a combined 3 strikeouts, 15 walks, 26 hits.

Pitching for Whirlpool were Kelly Bodi and Diamin Heberling for a combined 4 strikeouts, 9 walks, 21 hits.

Hitting for Miller's were Breanne Michael, 2 singles, 1 double; Savanna Roth, 2 singles; and Paula Wollenslagle, 1 double.

Hitting for Whirlpool were Tasha Wood, 1 double; Shania Heberling, 2 singles, 1 double; Kelly Bodi, 2 singles, 2 doubles; Ceirra Rodriguez, 1 double, 1 triple; Jessica Matney, 5 singles; Anna Leck, 1 HR on errors; Jand ill Miller, 1 HR on errors.

Fire Dept. vs CFACU

Clyde Fire Department extended its season record to 10-1, with a win over Clyde Findlay Area Credit Union, 10-1, on June 7, in boys major league play.

Pitching for Fire Dept. were Collin Gregory, 2 innings, 8 strikeouts, 1 walk, 1 hit, 1 run; Derek Gray, 3 2/3 innings, 6 strikeouts; and Cody Rettenmund, 1/3 inning, 1 walk.

Pitching for CFACU was Connor Garcia, 2 innings, 2 strikeouts, 3 hits, 3 runs.

Hitting for Fire were Austin Baker, 1 double, 2 runs, 2 RBIs; Matt Baker, 1 run, 1 RBI; Cody Rettenmund, 1 HR, 2 runs, 2 RBIs; Joe Kerlin, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 HR, 2 runs, 2 RBIs; and Colin Gregory, 1 double, 1 HR, 1 runs, 1 RBI.

Hitting for CFACU were Matt Heuther, 1 run; and Mason Wagner, 1 RBI.
