Hail falls on area

Stormy weather hit northwest Ohio on Thursday with multiple severe weather watches and warnings issued for the area.

Lucas County was hardest hit with several severe thunderstorm warnings issued. A trained weather spotter reported one-inch diameter hail six miles west-south-west of Holland during a storm at about 7 p.m.

A storm that hit Swanton just after 7 p.m. forced the Swanton Public Library's Concert on the Lawn indoors and dropped pea-sized hail on the village.

A flash flood warning was also issued for western Lucas County on Thursday evening.

In Wauseon, a downburst caused damage at Biddle Park. A backstop was uprooted and sheared off a speed limit sign and a trash receptacle was thrown airborne 125 yards.
