Failing to yield sends two people to the hospital

Last Wednesday at about 12:40 p.m., Anthony Zenner, 63, was westbound on Route 303 in a Ford minivan, failed to yield at the stop sign, and was struck by a semi truck traveling southbound on Route 511. Zenner and a passenger, whose identity has not been confirmed, were flown to Cleveland Metro by Life Flight; no update is available on their condition. The driver of the semi truck, Ahmednur Mohamed, 35, of Columbus, was not injured. Two dogs were also in the minivan; one of them died from injuries sustained in the crash and the other was taken to a local veterinarian by a passerby. The Elyria Highway Patrol Post is investigating the crash. (Photo by Dale Sheffield)
